Minutes Workforce Network of Kansas Participating in the conference call: David Brennan, Local Area II; Steve Jack, KDHR; Kathy Ketchum, KDHR; Kris Kitchen, Local Area II; Vernon Nikkel, Local Area I; Al Rolls, Local Area III; Jim Schwarzenberger, Local Area IV; and Barb Reavis, Workforce Network of Kansas staff Ketchum described Item 1 of the draft of the Marketing Plan that was circulated to Task Force members prior to the meeting. The first goal of the proposal would be to increase the number of employers registered on kansasjoblink.com. Minnesota was very successful in promoting their services by using a mailing to employers. Ketchum explained that by using this method to emphasize employer tax services and job listing, the federal indicia could be used, saving $20,000-30,000 in postage costs for the state. Reavis explained Item 2 and what she hoped would be the benefit of adding
statewide speakers' bureau and materials to promote services and awareness.
There was considerable discussion about these items: Ketchum and Reavis committed to looking at the plan again and bringing it back for further discussion. The next regularly scheduled meeting is May 8, 10:00 a.m. (This meeting has since been changed to 10:00 a.m., May 15 and will be held at the Topeka Workforce Center, 1430 SW Topeka Blvd, Topeka.)
